SOPHIE Magazine

Bold, emotional, and unapologetically queer, SOPHIE is a self-published magazine that celebrates LGBTQ+ musicians and underrepresented voices through original editorial illustration. Developed during Seneca’s Specialization Studio class, the project was guided by the mentorship of illustrator Salini Perera. Drawing inspiration from the legacy of trans DJ and producer Sophie Xeon, the magazine blends expressive visual storytelling with a strong sense of advocacy. Every page honours pride, identity, and the power of art as protest. SOPHIE strikes a balance between polished design and heartfelt community spirit—part tribute, part cultural beacon.
