Vendedoras de Frutas

This project is a tribute to Ana Julia Álvarez (1908–2007), the first woman recognized in El Salvador’s art scene and a key figure in Salvadoran Art Deco. While visiting MARTE (El Salvador's Art Museum), inspiration struck upon discovering her striking work. Research revealed that she later emigrated to Toronto, Canada, mirroring a similar journey and adding a personal resonance to her story.

Ana Julia’s work, known for its expressive Art Deco style and unique character stylization, was ahead of its time, making a lasting impact on Salvadoran art. This homage recreates one of her pieces in a personal style to honor her legacy.
