SOPHIE Magazine

Project developed as a final submission for the Specialization Studio class at Seneca, with a focus on editorial illustration. Created as a self-published magazine, SOPHIE's first issue features a series of original illustrations developed under the guidance of illustrator Salini Perera, whose mentorship provided invaluable insights and feedback throughout the process. The collaboration helped refine the visual direction of the magazine, resulting in a professional and cohesive body of work.

Named after trans DJ and producer Sophie Xeon, a pioneer in experimental electronic music, SOPHIE magazine serves as a platform for queer musicians and a voice for underrepresented communities. It aims to celebrate diversity, highlight the achievements of modern queer artists, and promote pride and advocacy through visual storytelling and editorial illustration.
